I [Emily] realized the other day that even my own mother has not seen our beautiful home here in Mauritius. Not cool…I know. So I thought I’d share pictures of our home with all of you.
The pictures will start you off with what you’d enter first if I was to give you a tour of our home – the garage. We don’t have a front door, so we enter our house through the garage. From there you’ll see the downstairs where we live the majority of our lives and then take you upstairs where most of the bedrooms are. If you make it to the end, you’ll see our beautiful house from the outside!
Hope you enjoy!
We found one of the only homes we’ve seen in Mauritius with a garage. It’s such a gift! This day it was doubling as place to hang our clothes to dry because some rain clouds were looming overhead. We don’t exactly have a front door, so this is your first few upon entering our house…in case you needed any other reminder that we moved here in bags. This sink hangs out under our stairwell near the luggage. Our downstairs bathroom is really nice!Storage is a bit of a struggle in this house. This cute unit fits perfectly in our bathroom downstairs!Welcome to our “bar” turned pantry/shelving unit. This is our kitchen with the longest harvest table we’ve ever seen!If you’re sitting at our dining table facing away from the kitchen, this will be your view. It’s probably one of my favorite spaces in our house! Our guest room is all set up for anyone wanting to visit! Our stairwell has become a fun place to hang a gallery wall. It’s still in process and I love it more each time we add something new!The top of the stairwell seemed the perfect place to hang the 6 canvas world map that has been with us now on three different continents (if you’re counting Mauritius as Africa…there’s genuine debate.)This is mine and Adam’s bedroomOur upstairs bathroom is a bit of a…well…it’s an interesting set up. Our sink is in the upstairs hallway while the toilet and shower are hidden inside what we would consider “the bathroom”. You know…you win some, you lose some. This is currently a catch all bedroom…everyone has one, right?!Adam’s dream office. Seriously, you guys. The man has a big desk, a printer/scanner, a laminator, and a large table to work on projects. It’s a teacher’s dream! We would have driven right past this beauty if a friend of ours hadn’t told us it’s actually in our price range. I still pinch myself sometimes when I see this beautiful home we’re blessed to live in.
Amazing house! Looks very homey 🙂 I’m glad to hear you’re both doing well.
We are so thrilled for you. I’m glad you have such a beautiful place to call home. Always you are in our prayers. We love you so much.
The upstairs hallway sink = accountability for quality tooth hygiene. 😉
