• › Enough Adulting for Today

    Enough adulting for today.

For the first time ever — in my whole life — I defrosted my freezer. Never needed to before, but now? Oh god, it was time.

Yes, I admit it, I have never done it before except on my chest freezer and due to the heat in Sweden right now, I felt so stressed. No,  I’m not ashamed to admit this 😂

We have something called “Röt Månad” which basically means that food and drinks go bad really fast.

So imagine me using a metal spatula, boiling hot water, three bath sheets and one hand towel trying to defrost everything as fast as possible.

Honestly, I wish I could say “enough adulting” but sadly I have a lot more to do before it’s time to go to sleep for the night. Fold laundry, clean up, make dinner, pack E’s bags, get him ready for sleep. Shower (again), pack my cabin bag and yeah 😵‍💫 so much.

Wish me luck – I’m gonna need it.

  • › Chaotic Thoughts, Expensive Medicine & Pepsi Max Addiction

Not every day is productive — some days are just survival mode.

Selfie of Emma with a playful devil horn filter during a chaotic day with migraine and mental exhaustion
    The struggle is real today.

Another day has come to an end and I have actually been struggling a lot with my head. So many chaotic thoughts, mental struggle and all that shebang.

Today hasn’t been much other than I went to the drugstore and got my new medicine. Ridiculously expensive! 3907 SEK! That is 353€ and/or $402. This will be the price for me MONTHLY 💀  I almost passed out (not literally)  when I saw the amount.

    Holy h*ll!

I also went to the supermarket. I was only going there to buy French fries but I left the store with 8 bottles of Pepsi Max and the French fries.

I know – Emma… you just bought a lot of Pepsi Max..yes, yes I did but .. a girl can never have enough. Plus it was on sale/campaign so .. why not? 😅💀 I think i need to enter a rehab for Pepsi Max addiction.  Like no joke (joking at the same time).

    Oops.

Bulgaria trip; I have started to pack. I know,  3 weeks-ish till the bon voyage but me, ADHD and chaotic memory need to do this. But today I only fixed the travel bottles with essentials I need. I haven’t brought the suitcase up from the storage room yet but if I know myself, it will come up to my beloved bedroom within a few days. Oops! 😇

My mental struggle today has been that I haven’t had energy. Also talking with the doctor about my meds made me exhausted. So much information I had in a 3-minuteo call. Crazy. So I have a  migraine right now – not only because of the phone call but the stress around everything.

  • › Ready for an Adventure

Hello my beautiful flowers! I hope you all are doing good! How are you?

    ●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●

A bus ride, a crowded grocery store and one very determined little adventurer.

Non-verbal autistic child shopping in a grocery store during a family day out.

I just sat down after today’s adventure with E. As you know, he has autism – level 3 – and is non-verbal. Due to him not having the after-school care thingy for the rest of the summer, I have to come up with a million ideas of what to do with him – like I normally do, but living here, it’s not that fun. At least he enjoys it.

Today’s adventure; bus, grocery store, bus and home.

He has been nagging about the trip we went on to another city – bus, train, shopping, train, bus – and I have always felt really bad for saying “not today, maybe tomorrow” etc.

Today he repeatedly said “bus, shopping – bus” and started to get ready > pants, shirt, underwear (he took care of his hygiene himself), brushed his teeth and hair, put on his shoes and jacket.

“Ready!” all of a sudden I heard while I was out on the balcony.

I laughed when I saw him ready for an adventure, so I took him on a bus ride (he is obsessed with buses) and the joy when we finally sat down on the bus. Oh my.

Non-verbal autistic child enjoying a bus ride and looking out the window.

When I saw the parking lot at the grocery store, my heart started to beat super fast and I felt that I didn’t want to do this. The parking lot was MAXED with cars! It was insane!

But I had promised E, so I ignored my feelings and we got off. I told E to hold my hand and whatever he did – do not let my hand go.

Luckily, if a child gets lost in Sweden, people usually help them find their parent or notify store staff. So while I was worried about the crowds and the noise, I wasn’t worried about E getting abducted or anything like that.

While inside, oh my God. I wanted to turn around instantly. My mind was racing:

“How will this go? How will E act?” (He gets tantrums when there are a lot of people and noises.) “Where are the hearing protections?” etc.

Toys; as a reward (before actually entering the food sections of the store), I got him a second train. I knew that would help him stay a little calmer because he could focus on that one.

Food sections; thank God I have taught E to hold the cart in front of me and me behind him. So it’s me – E – cart.

Because oh my Lord how insane people are when holidays are happening in Sweden. This time; Midsummer.

We literally had to do a maze between people to grab our stuff and when we were outside after the shopping, I let out the biggest sigh of relief. We were done.

    We did it!

Remind me to never go to grocery stores during holidays or a few days before. It was worse than Christmas time and people in Sweden are insane when it comes to Christmas and Easter.

  • › Few Glimpses of My Weekend

    Just snapshots and relaxing.

Hello my beautiful flowers! I hope you all are doing good! How are you?

How has your weekend been? What have you been up to? Let me know. I’m honestly curious!

Can you believe that half of June has already passed? How insane is that?

    Finally Strawberry season
Happy Emma! Strawberry season is finally here!

My weekend has been pretty chill. I have had cravings for strawberries and apples, and I am so happy because it is summer season here in Sweden, which means… STRAWBERRY SEASON!

I went out in a massive rainstorm just to buy strawberries and apples. Was it worth it? Yes.

This weekend I was also sick for a while, which resulted in me not getting any sleep that night. I wrote about it in this post.

Luckily, it was only that one night.

Today I have been deep cleaning my apartment and also hammered a chair together, which resulted in a busted nail (a blue nail), so I have surgery tape around it now to hopefully prevent the nail from falling off.

    What else? Not much.

I will let the snapshots do the talking instead because my head is pretty empty right now. I was on a TikTok live earlier and it was a crazy moment. Lol!

  • › It’s Secured & There’s No Risk of Running Out!

It’s secured. No risk of me going without it. It was expensive, but it was on sale — half price compared to its normal price.

Hey guys! I hope you are all doing well today! I have not said that in a long time. I’M SORRY!! How are you? How have you been? Any news you want to share? Talk to me 🥰 Let’s have a conversation in the comments!

Heading into town with headphones, sunshine, and a backpack full of plans.
It’s a cardigan I tied around my bag

Now to the post — and you are probably wondering what I mean by the title.

Well, first things first: I did not go to the BS event the teacher sent an invitation to. Nope.

Second: the Pepsi Max is secured 🙌🏼

Shopping cart filled with Pepsi Max, protein drinks, and snacks.

Yes, I went into town just to buy Pepsi Max, and then I remembered that my son had been pointing at chips in the advertisement papers, so I bought those too. I also picked up my new obsession (well… not new, but new for this use): vanilla protein drinks that I have started using in my smoothies alongside the powder and oh my God… game changer 🙌🏼

Heading home on the bus after carrying way too much Pepsi Max.
    It’s moments like this I wish I had a car 😅

Let me tell you, this was heavy! But it was secured! So getting home was a challenge. Sun high up in sky, massive head, a bag on wheels, backpack and a shopping bag with all the Pepsi Max plus the other. Heavy!

Sadly, I still had to go to the grocery store after I got home and dropped the Pepsi Max off because I needed to buy dinner and breakfast stuff.

Small grocery shopping trip after already spending too much money earlier.

Today I spent around $70 😵‍💫 Mostly on soda, but it is fine. They do not have this sale very often, so whenever they do… I attack the packages 😂

Well, not literally. But you get it.

Todays dinner; my own chicken buttermasala and rice. Plus veggies ofcourse.
