• › ADHD Chaos: I Accidentally Booked Two Day Trips

    ✨️ Whoopsii ✨️

    MORE ADHD CHAOS!
And trust me, this is even worse than the purple hair dye!

It’s currently 5 a.m. here in Bulgaria, and I just had a crazy idea. Since I was bored, I opened Google to see if I could visit another country bordering Bulgaria while I’m here in Sofia.

Being bored & having ADHD is clearly a dangerous combination 😂

    OOPS!.. I DID SOMETHING!

    Adventure time!

Two Day trips within three days.
    Two different countries!

    Pinch me!

    Monday (20th) ➜ Niš, Serbia 🇷🇸
    Wednesday (22nd) ➜ Skopje, North Macedonia 🇲🇰

    AAH! I AM SO EXCITED!!

The buses leave ridiculously early both times, but hey… I managed to stay awake when I travelled to Bulgaria, so I don’t think it’ll be a problem.

Guys… a day trip to another country? Twice?!
I’m beyond excited, but I’m also in complete shock. I knew it was possible to visit another country within a few hours, but this? This is absolutely ridiculous!

Before I fly home to Sweden on the 24th, I’ll have visited two more countries.

So this vacation will officially look like this:
    Sweden ➜ Bulgaria ➜ Serbia ➜ Bulgaria ➜ North Macedonia ➜ Bulgaria ➜ Sweden

    How crazy is that?

Funny little fact: I was actually planning to spend my vacation in Skopje, North Macedonia, but at the very last minute I changed my mind and booked Sofia instead.

Looks like I’m getting to visit Skopje after all!

Well… I guess my ADHD brain planned the rest of my vacation. I got bored in Bulgaria and somehow end up booking day trips to two different countries. Let’s see if this turns out to be the best idea I’ve ever had… or the worst. 😂 Who knows? It might be the best part of the trip.

But honestly, sometimes, having ADHD can be both a blessing but also a curse. At this moment, its a mix of both. A blessing because it came up with these ideas and curse because it made me purchase the tickets.

Life with ✨️ ADHD ✨️ is wonderful.. sometimes.

  • › Hello From Sofia, Bulgaria! My First Days, Shopping & Exploring the City

I slept for 18 hours, damaged my credit card and questioned people’s winter jackets plus being catcalled by old men and horribly rude staff in stores (the stores part will be a whole own post)

Welcome to Sofia with me, Emma – Everflow. Not your typical lifestyle travel blogger but here we are! First official post from Sofia but be ready for many more! Two weeks. Yeah. A lot is coming for sure.

Hot, sweaty, a lot of people and strong sun that causes me to have an extreme migraine.

The view of the balcony of my room. Interesting view for sure

I know I said I would blog when I arrived in Sofia. Well… I just went to a supermarket (Lidl) and bought drinks and water. I went straight to the hotel afterwards and was knocked out for 6 hours!

At night (when I woke up), I went out on the balcony and saw… I don’t know how many flying light objects “playing” around in the sky. I watched them for a few minutes while being on the phone, letting people know that I’m safe.

After that, I went to bed and was knocked out for 12 hours. Yeah… I guess I was a bit tired.

So today I have done some damage to the credit cards. Well, not so much damage except food and drinks. Mostly water. Yes, I know the water is safe to drink in Europe, but there is something special about bottled water.

Today I went shopping for a cabin suitcase. After yesterday, my shoulder is destroyed from carrying the “cabin bag” I took from home. So when I went to Mall of Sofia (I will write about that one later — review etc.), I saw a store with 50% off bags etc., so I went in there and bought the beauty in the picture. Yes.. i bought a brown one. It was the biggest size of cabin suitcase they had.

I also went to Lidl and bought water, Pepsi Max (of course), toothpaste plus toothbrushes and a water bottle.

(The little toiletries box I bought in Sweden with toothpaste and a toothbrush… worthless…)

Of course, I went exploring as well, so below you can see some photos I have taken with my phone today. I had my camera with me, but it’s too hot outside to use it right now, so I’m gonna wait until later and take photos.

Btw, I’m dying in this heat and some people make me raise my eyebrows. Some are walking around in puffer winter jackets… IN THIS HEAT! Meanwhile, I’m over here dying. 💀

    The Sofia Hotel AC
International icon. Migraine fighter. Life saver. Occasionally freezes Emma to death.

I will update more, but for now, the AC is my best friend — even though I’m freezing while lying in front of it, it helps with my migraine.
No. I won’t put anything over me — a blanket or something — because if I do, I will be K.O. (knocked out) and sleeping.

    Hahaha.

ENJOY A FEW PICTURES I HAVE TAKEN TODAY  (so far)

    Mosque

    Mosque from front

The sirens of the police are so ridiculous.

You know me. Taking pictures of random stuff as well

    Real ruins

  • › FINALLY On My Way to Sofia! After a Very Long Night at the Airport

    FINALLY I’M ON MY WAY!

Holding a boarding pass from Stockholm Arlanda to Vienna at the airport before continuing the journey to Sofia, Bulgaria.

I am so tired of being at the airport. I arrived at 22.19 and have been here ever since. Finally, I will be able to board the plane soon.

I am so exhausted from all the stress, rushing, repacking at the airport etc. One of my bags was too heavy, so I had to fix that.

I will write more when I have arrived in Sofia. I don’t have much time in Vienna before the next flight leaves!

Wish me luck! I hate flying 💀

  • › Currently. Overwhelmed.

Why is this trip more overwhelming than the trip I did to Italy?

Is it just me, or do some trips feel heavier before you even leave?

I honestly don’t know — maybe some trips just come with chaos attached to them. So who knows how this one will turn out.. 💀 …maybe good, maybe bad. All I know is that this trip feels more chaotic than the others I’ve been on.

  • › Trip to Bulgaria 2026: Packing List, Travel Preparation & Personal Travel Diary 🇧🇬

Remember this post? Somewhere warm soon

M SURPRISED ME! With a trip to Bulgaria! I actually found about this recently!

A personal travel diary, packing list, and preparation checklist before a summer trip to Bulgaria ~ CHAOS!

    Tickets booked ✔️

     Hotel sorted. ✔️

    Airport transfers arranged. ✔️

Planning a trip to Bulgaria in 2026? Read my personal travel diary including packing list, travel preparation, what I’ve bought, travel apps I use, and final checklist before departure.

Travel to Bulgaria 2026 – Two weeks of Vacation Begins

Time to travel abroad, explore new places, go on small adventures, and create new memories in Bulgaria.

And I can already feel it — that shift before a trip when everyday life no longer feels completely normal. Everything slowly turns into preparation. Time feels slower, almost stretched, as departure gets closer.

This is my personal travel preparation for Bulgaria 2026, including my packing list, travel checklist, and everything I’ve bought before my trip.

Travel mindset before going to Bulgaria

There is always a specific mindset before traveling. For me, it’s a mix of excitement and constant planning.

Last year, I traveled to Italy. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations and felt disappointing on a personal level. Venice, in particular, was far from what I had imagined. Instead of romantic canals and glowing lights, it felt crowded and underwhelming. Because of that experience, I don’t plan to return to Venice again.

This is why my upcoming trip to Bulgaria feels very different — more exciting, more intentional, and more positive.

Travel preparation checklist: apps, documents & planning

Before traveling to Bulgaria, I’ve been preparing everything in advance.

I’ve downloaded several essential travel apps, including:

    * Taxi apps ~ Yellow & TaxiMe
    * Translation apps for communication ~ simple Google translator. I’m still looking into other
    * Public transport timetable apps ~ Moovit

Taxi&Transportation apps ~ These are the apps I have downloaded so far. Maybe more will be added. I’m still googling what I need and what to avoid etc.

I also constantly check my travel documents, passport, and ID to make sure everything is ready.

This pre-travel planning phase is always the most intense part for me.

Pre-travel chaos: packing anxiety & preparation routine

Before every trip, my environment changes.

My room slowly becomes a reflection of my mindset — not organised, not calm, but a quiet kind of chaos. Packing, unpacking, and re-checking everything multiple times.

Even when I follow my packing list, I still double-check everything.

    My mind often asks:

    ~ Did I pack this?
~ Where did I put that?
~ What if I forgot something?

Even when I know everything is already packed.

This is just part of my personal travel routine before any trip, whether it’s a weekend or a long vacation.

What I’ve already bought for my Bulgaria trip

Here is my current Bulgaria travel packing list of items I’ve already purchased:

~ Small camera bag organiser (for lighter travel, no backpack needed)
~ Set of six coded travel locks (no keys, for security while traveling)
~ Two new pairs of sunglasses
~ Screen protector for my phone
~ New walking shoes for sightseeing and travel

The bag will be (hopefully) good for my camera and few lenses for me to have in my shoulderbag when I’m outside.
    The new shoes.

These are part of my essential travel gear for Bulgaria 2026. So far.

What I still need to buy before traveling to Bulgaria

There are still a few final items left on my Bulgaria packing checklist:

    – Camera gear & photography accessories

    ~ Lens covers
    ~ Lens cap holder
~ KnightX CPL filters (multiple sizes)
~ Memory card holder (compact version)

    – Travel essentials for Bulgaria

    ~ Two shirts
    ~ A pair of shorts
    ~ Suitcase
~ Cabin bag or carry-on travel bag

These final items complete my travel packing list for Bulgaria. I think. I hope.

Travel countdown: Bulgaria trip July 12th 2026 ✈️

    The countdown has officially begun!

Right now, my thoughts are everywhere:
what I still need to buy, what I still need to pack, how I will get there, currency exchange, and transportation details.

And most importantly — making sure I don’t forget the essentials:
passport, national ID, wallet, and charger.

Passport and ID are the most important travel documents. Everything else can be replaced.

Final thoughts: preparing for a summer trip to Bulgaria

This Bulgaria travel diary is part of my preparation process. Slowly, everything is becoming real — from planning to packing to departure.

Soon, it will all be zipped, organised, and ready to go.

    I hope.

All my posts about preparation,  travel, photography etc will be in one category of its own. Just like my Norway trip 2024, Italy Trip 2025.
