Stay motivated?
How do you stay motivated when learning something new?
Well, if it is something I like to learn, for example, I love learning new languages. That keeps me motivated because it’s something new and interesting. But if it was something boring, I would lose motivation and interest.

Glucose and oxygen. My Greek teacher says while plying us with pastries. “You can not learn without sugar.”
What languages do you like?

Oh that is interesting!
I would like to learn arabic.
Yankee Doodle
Neat. That sounds interesting. What got you into it?

Thanks! Oh i had a.. interesting childhood and when i grew up i got more and more into it. I wanted even to study it to become a translator for people with need it when meetings with embassys for an example.
Yankee Doodle
Wow. That’s a lofty goal.

Yeah sadly they don’t have that type of language lessons in Sweden where you can study it.
Yankee Doodle
No? I would imagine with recent demographic changes that there would be. I know we have them here. Move to Maine. ;p
☆ E - The Everflow ☆
Haha if i could move :)

Well, I can always wax poetic and make recommendations. Portland is the foodie capitol, but OOB has the thickest calories (beach food.) Brunswick is beautiful for the history.
There’s also… Sweden. Which is appropriately named and has little Midsommar festivals and such.
I love Maine and could go on about us for ages. But that might get boring.
I’d imagine living in Sweden is tops. I might want to learn swedish one day, it’s a beautiful language which makes a lot of my favourite tunes and history.

Yeah Sweden is beautiful. But i want to move.
Swedish food is the bomb tho! Have you tried that?
Yankee Doodle
A little, more Danish from when I tried learning Danish.
Maine food is good, but not if you’re watching your figure. Be prepared to unbuckle your belt for breathing room if you move to one of the foodie towns. (Any town.)

Oh wow, danish? That’s fun!! I hope you be able to learn more :)
Haha sounds like a good time for sure!

My hands are full of Greek and keeping my German and Latin from degenerating. If I took on a Scando language now it would be Swedish for the metal I like.

Oh wow! That is insane! I wish I knew greek but that wouldn’t stay in my head for long. Oh what bands u like?
Yankee Doodle
Many bands. Raubtier, Sabaton, Therion, Thyrfing, Garmarna (not metal,) to name a few. I’ve been trying to get away from metal and listen to more neofolk, pagan and church music.

How come? I listen to rock/metal etc :)
Yankee Doodle
It’s a guilty pleasure. I’m trying to clean up my soul, stop being lustful, angry, etc, for my kids to have a good dad example.
There’s nothing wrong with it! It just tends to sink into me and I absorb the lyrics and become testy.
Yankee Doodle
Greek in some ways is easier than Danish. Parts of Danish are close/different to English enough to be tricky.

Yeah Danish for me is.. oyy. Haha! It’s so hard to understand. Danish and Finnish

There’s a great meme about the Nordic languages with Godzilla as Finland.
